Unstoppable Domains Joins OMA3 Board of Directors

Web3 Land Domains Benefits

Unlike app-specific addresses, Web3 land domains are a special type of universal address that spans metaverse worlds, allowing users to point directly to their virtual lands and parcels. The primary benefit of this approach is the interoperability and universality of the address which allows people to teleport not only to a different world within the metaverse but also to specific locations in it as well. Standardization will give developers and users a consistent experience when using these web 3 land domains.

OMA’s Working Group

OMA’s Portaling and Mapping Working Group will lead efforts to create standards for Web3 land domains in order prevent conflicts and duplicates across different implementations. Additionally, as part of its commitment with OMA 3 Unstoppable Domains will coordinate efforts between both organizations through its membership at The Web 3 Domain Alliance which was founded in 2022.


The collaboration between Unstoppable Domains and OMA 3 will help achieve an open marketplace with web 3 land domain standards that would provide users with an easy way to uniquely identify metaverse lands while also giving developers consistency when working with these web 3 services.
